Following on from the success in 2024, the staff at both Mansfield and Scotland once again teamed up with our external partners, Mobile Team Challenge (MTC), to support the 2025 ‘Right First Time’ engagement event on 25 January (Mansfield) and 20 February (Scotland).
This year’s agenda focussed on building a culture of teamwork, resilience, and personal well-being. It was a worthwhile and well received follow up to last year’s events, which covered the principles of team building and leadership behaviours.
The main session at both events was delivered by MTC with other content covered relating to Mansfield / Scotland needs. Our respective Operation Directors, Rob Kent and Dougie Thomas, kicked off the sessions by reminding our team of the humble beginnings of the companies and who we are, what we do and why we do it. They both touched on the company ethos that we do a good job, work hard and are professional before covering behaviours and expectations.
MTC’s main session covered resilience, stress, behaviours and attitudes, time management and a useful re-cap on some areas from the 2024 events. Four practical exercises supported the theory to consolidate learning and promote team working. It was noticeable how the teams became more engaged and effective as they went through the day. Well done team!
At Mansfield, Rob delivered a brief on Enhanced Testing Procedures following a recent incident. He provided an overview of the incident, findings from the investigation, potential consequences and steps taken to enhance the process. A real focus on this session was personal responsibility. At Scotland, Dougie hosted clients NWR and Siemens and supplier, SPL. He supported the HSQE team in delivering an informative Asbestos Management brief.
The HSE team delivered shorter briefings on the days on Safe Access Points, Close Calls and Health and Well-Being Plans for 2025 before distributing remaining PSA kits to staff in scope to support Prostate Cancer Awareness.
A big thanks to MTC and to all the Mansfield and Scotland teams, clients, and suppliers for their valued participation during the events.
Key takeaways:
To be the best at what we do, in everything we do. Be the best you can be.
Are you above or below line in winning behaviours and attitudes?
Where are you on the ‘Life Balance Wheel’? (see Useful Link to view)
Think before you act – are you switched on? Is it switched on?
We believe that we can perform as a high performing team.
